Dr. TINA BERADZE M.D. Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental health expert and author, Behavioral and Management Consultant
Dr.Tina Beradze M.D. is Founder and Head of the Supervisory Board of International Foundation “Initiative for Mental Health” (IFMH), Co-founder, President of International Mental Health Center (IMHC), and Member of the Board, Director of International Affairs at the Ukrainian Psychiatric Association (UPA) in Kiev, Ukraine.
Dr.Tina maintains successful private mental health practice and has active public position on promotion of mental health and prevention of mental illnesses in Ukraine, CIS, Caucasus and throughout Eastern Europe. Dr. Tina Beradze is dedicated to promoting mental well being and adequate services for people suffering from mental disorders through International Foundation “Initiative for Mental Health”, which she has founded in Ukraine with a group of concerned individuals and supporters.
Tina Beradze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (former USSR). Educated at Tbilisi State Medical Institute, Georgia, where she was awarded a qualification of Medical Doctor and completed postgraduate clinical residency training in the field of Psychiatry. Completed post graduate and continued education programs in the United States, including Harvard Medical School training programs and received Category 1 CME (Continued Medical Education) credits according to the criteria of American Medical Association in the areas of Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis, Psychoses, Depressive Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorders, Schizophrenia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Substance Abuse, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Participated in educational and scientific programs in Europe and obtained European highest category CME credits in the areas of General Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorders and Neuropsychopharmacology. Furthermore received advanced training in Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology from Kiev Postgraduate Medical Academy in Ukraine. Since 2006 Dr. Tina Beradze is a member of Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Association.
She has extensive clinical experience in providing full range of mental health services with special emphasis on combining Pharmacological psychiatric treatment with Psychotherapy, including individual and group therapy, counseling and stress management. During her professional career she has served as Head of Neurosis Department at Psycho-neurological Clinic #1, Chief Psychiatrist of Clinical Hospital of Main Administration of Ministry of Health in Tbilisi, Georgia; Psychotherapist at Kennestone Hospital, Moderator of a psychiatric helpline at Kennestone Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. USA; Psychotherapist at Psycho-neurological Hospital #2 in and provided outpatient mental health services for American Medical Center (AMC), in Kiev.
She founded International Mental Health Center in Ukraine with the aim to promote and provide quality mental health services to general public in Eastern European and former Soviet countries. In the framework of Ukrainian Psychiatric Association actively participates in educational and research activities in cooperation with European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), NHS and National Institute for Mental health (UK), Austrian Association of Psychiatrists, CINP - Collegium Internationale NeuroPsychopharmacologicum, World Health Organization (WHO), World Psychiatric Association (WPA), and other international organizations.
Currently maintains a private practice providing mental health services, including Psychiatric evaluations, Psychological assessment, Psychotherapy, Crisis Intervention, Occupational, Family and Marital therapy, Stress management, Life coaching, Behavioral, Organizational and Corporate Counseling, in Kiev. Serves expatriate community through Employee Assistance programs for embassies and United Nations office in Ukraine.
Dr. Tina Beradze is accepted, as Individual Member of World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP), included into the Ministry of Health work group on Reform of Mental Health care system in Ukraine (jointly with WHO), participated in national project in Ukraine on postpartum depression, and supported by UNICEF.
Recently was elected to the Board of International Life Protection Academy in Ukraine, responsible for procuring and implementing professional guidelines for psychiatric crisis intervention, emergency services, psychological training and rehabilitation of victims and personnel. Nominated, as a member of the Scientific Board in the area Mental Health for the Chernobyl Research and Information Network (ICRIN) project, implemented by United Nations development Program (UNDP), UNICEF, IAEA, and WHO.
In the capacity of consultant and coach cooperates with a number of multinational corporations, represented in Ukraine. She is a member of International Coaching Federation (ICF). As established mental health expert, advices top international companies and organizations on legal, managerial public relations issues, related to behavioral and psychological aspects.
Currently, Dr. Tina Beradze is engaged, as External trainer under contract with MedAvante Inc. USA, providing quality control and assurance of testing and clinical trials in the field of psychiatry. She participates in educational and training activities for students, young specialists and general public with lectures, speaking engagements and via internet.
Dr.Tina Beradze is a published author of scientific and popular articles, runs a mental health column. Serves as member of the editorial board of “NeuroNews” - scientific journal on Psychiatry, Neurology and Neuropsychopharmacology. She is an active public speaker on the subject of mental health care, appearing in international and local media.
She is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Georgian, has conversational ability in German. Sense of humor is present.
